BGT forced to up security during auditions after intruder break in – leaving stars on high alert
BRITAIN’s Got Talent has been forced to up its security protocol after the show’s stars were left on high alert.
The cast of the hit show were flanked by a raft of security guards as they made their way to the programme’s Manchester auditions.
It came after police were forced to swoop in on the show’s recent set of London auditions after a female intruder tried to make her way backstage at the iconic Palladium venue.
The intruder was thought to have past by security guards and ‘trespassed’ into a forbidden backstage area.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said at the time that no offence had been committed and they had been responding to reports of a women suffering from a mental health crisis.
The scary incident is believed to have left the show’s panel – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli and Alesha Dixon – rattled.
Now bosses have upped their security detail in order to make the A-list panel feel safe.
A show source said: “They hired extra security both inside and outside the venue in Manchester today .
“Simon and of course Ant and Dec have been surrounded by extra staff as they came in and security hasn’t left their sides all day.
“It will be an ongoing measure to ensure there is no disruption to their filming schedule.”
Venue and security staff could be seen patrolling the outside of the venue accompanied by dogs in a bid to prevent any inappropriate behaviour.
The hosts and judges have been filming the auditions stage of the programme in advance of it hitting screens in the spring.
Last week, Amanda and Alesha looked incredible as they wowed in gorgeous outfits for filming.
Alesha ensured all eyes were on her as she rocked a long yellow jacket with matching, and eye-catching, trousers.
