TOKYO -- Toyota Motor on Tuesday lifted its net profit forecast for the year ending March to a record 4.5 trillion yen (30.3 billion U.S. dollars), amid robust post-pandemic demand and the yen's weakness.

The upward revision for fiscal 2023 marked an 83.6 percent rise from the previous year. The Japanese automaker had formerly forecast a full-year net profit of 3.95 trillion yen. (Japan-Toyota)
