‘For those of you who like to tailgate,’ driver says after showing off hidden Ford feature just inside door of trunk
FORD drivers have found a hidden tailgating feature in one of the company’s best-selling trucks.
The Bronco Sport, the smaller option in a recently revived Ford SUV lineup, has a small feature built into the trunk.
“Just want to go through the cool Easter eggs hidden on this Bronco sport,” a Ford dealership salesman, Nick, said in a video posted by the dealership (@SouthBayFordHawthorne).
After opening the manually operated rear liftgate, Nick pointed to a detail carved into the side of the trunk.
Just above the passenger-side brake light is a small divet with a metal spoke.
“For those of you that like to tailgate, there’s a built in bottle opener,” Nick explained.
The feature is innocuously built into the car’s trunk seal.

Nick offered several other tidbits of the SUV in the YouTube trip around the car.
The Bronco nameplate is built off the iconic two-door, partial convertible SUV platform made popular in the 1980s and 1990s.
Ford killed off the Bronco in 1996, opting for more passenger-oriented SUVs like the Explorer.
However, the company built a nostalgic appeal for the truck since its discontinuation.
The company revived the Bronco in 2021 with two main options.
The Bronco Sport is a crossover-size SUV that has generated over 100,000 deliveries in the past year.
Another full-size Bronco SUV hit the market in the same year.
The Bronco badge – featuring the profile of a horse kicking its hind legs – is ladden throughout the truck, Nick said.
Another hidden gem is built into the rear-window defrosters.
The profile of the original Bronco design is etched into the black lines of the window.
Drivers will find the horse on the headlights, on the rims, and mounted on the steering wheel.
Only one Ford badge made it into the design – on the bottom left-hand corner of the trunk’s exterior.
Nick also pointed out the LED lights lining the truck’s trunk.
The orientation of the lights is adjustable.
