A MAKEUP guru has revealed the correct way to apply concealer for a youthful look.
She explained how a common mistake can age the skin under the eyes as it emphasizes fine lines and wrinkles.
Mayra Lopez (@the.mayra.lopez) has garnered over 22,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty tips.
She took to the social media platform to share “the best” concealer hack for women over 30.
“If you’re still applying your concealer like this,” she said applying the product under both of her eyes with her fingers.
“I’m going to show you a more natural, beautiful way that’s going to make your skin glow.”
She picked up a brush and began to blend the light shade of concealer under her eyes before explaining why the method should be avoided.
“Using a light shade like this is actually going to make your undereye or whatever you’re trying to cover come out even more,” she said.
“If you have wrinkly skin underneath it’s actually going to make you look older.”
Mayra zoomed the camera in to show how the popular way of applying concealer ages the skin under the eyes.
She then cleaned the concealer off the left side of her face so that she could demonstrate what to do instead.
“If you have undereye darkness, you want to use a nice light, peachy tone, just in the area that you have that darkness,” she said applying a color corrector.
“Before you blend that you want to get your concealer two shades lighter, nothing lighter than that.
“You want to apply it in the inner and outer corners.
“Then this is where the magic happens,” she said picking up a small brush.
“You’re going to lightly blend the product together, lightly pressing onto the skin and it’s going to give you a more beautiful, natural look.”
The beauty guru said her “fine lines and wrinkles” were more visible on the side of her face where she first applied concealer using the common method.
Mayra began to rave over how her hack which she demonstrated on the left side of her face made her skin look more youthful.
“Here, I color-corrected and I only used a concealer that was two shades lighter than my main foundation color,” she said.
“That’s going to make you look younger.
“It’s not going to bring out your fine lines and wrinkles.
“It’s going to make your skin glow.”
Thousands of people liked the video and many took to the comment section wowed by the hack.
