The headline focus of PM's visit to the UAE and Qatar this week has been a temple in Abu Dhabi and release of eight retired naval officers in Doha who had been earlier sentenced to death reportedly for espionage. Both ostensibly important, reflecting India's growing self-confidence and clout, Narendra Modi's visit has, however, been most significant from a strategic perspective.
