Daihatsu president, chairman to resign due to scandal: Toyota

TOKYO, Japan: A year after Daihatsu admitted to rigging collision-safety tests, Toyota said this week that the president and chairman of the small-car unit will resign.

As well as facing potential reputational damage from the safety certification scandal at Daihatsu, the world's top-selling automaker faces separate governance issues at truck maker Hino Motors and affiliate Toyota Industries.
