Eight arrested following Fort Edward drug investigation

FORT EDWARD, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Eight people were arrested in Fort Edward following a drug distribution investigation, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Brad Clark, 48, of Fort Edward, and Gregory Nelson, 41, of New York City, are both facing multiple felony charges. Six other suspects were charged with various misdemeanors in connection to the investigation.

The investigation determined that Clark and Nelson were allegedly involved in drug trafficking operations in Washington County after a search warrant was executed at a home in Fort Edward. They now face the following charges:

• Two counts of first-degree criminal nuisance
• Fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
• Aggravated family offense
• Second-degree criminal contempt

Nelson

• Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
• First-degree bail jumping
• Two counts of false personation

Clark and Nelson were both arraigned at Washington County Centralized Arraignment and remanded in lieu of bail. Nelson is reportedly a wanted person by the NYPD for drug related charges.

The other six suspects were all charged with first-degree loitering. One person was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, while another was charged with third-degree bail jumping. These six suspects were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear back at the Town of Fort Edward Court at a later date.
