Troy man pleads guilty to illegal gun possession

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man pleaded guilty to illegal gun possession after he was found with a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in July 2023. Justin Franklin, 44, is due back in court on April 24 for sentencing.

The Rensselaer County District Attorney's Office says Franklin faces 12 years to life in state prison as a result.

“A routine traffic stop took another illegal gun off our streets,” said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly.
