Battersea Power Station is of London’s modern icons. Its four distinctive chimneys and great cathedral-like turbine halls are instantly recognisable, and have featured in films, advertisements and, famously, on the cover of Pink Floyd’s 1977 album Animals, where a 12m long inflatable pink pig floats between two of the chimneys.
