Road closure announced in Canajoharie

CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A road closure has been announced in Canajoharie for Carlisle Road between Blaine Road and Old Sharon Road. The Canajoharie Fire Department reported that inclement weather caused a pole with live powerlines to fall across the roadway.

Hundreds of Canajoharie residents were without power this morning, according to National Grid's outage map. The outages, in tandem with the weather, also resulted in the closure of schools in the area. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes at this time.
