I found a ‘shade for shade dupe’ of Jeffree Starr’s palette at Dollar Tree – I’m looking out for the budget baddies
A COSMETICS connoisseur tested out a name-brand eyeshadow palette that she got for an eye-popping low price at Dollar Tree.
The shades passed the test with flying colors – literally.
“Jeffree Starr at the Dollar Tree?” said Alexus (@starguitarr).
There was certainly no shortage of the Unisex 5 steal as she showed off the various eyeshadow palettes she found in a range of matte and metallic colors.
For herself, Alexus was a fan of the dollar deal containing a fuschia shade as well as glittery gold, blush, turquoise, and purple tones plus a palette containing more muted colors.
She was already super impressed with her frugal purchase that she compared to the name-brand buy.
“These are not private labeled palettes they are a totally a different formula and brand I found that was an almost shade for shade dupe.
“They have different ingredients, formula, packaging and feel. They overall are pretty similar but are equally as different in terms of quality,” she said.
For $1.25 at Dollar Tree, she certainly didn’t pay full price for the palettes.
The Jeffree Star beauty killer two palette sells for $45 on the brand’s website.
The thrifty steal seemed to make many of her fans’ eyes pop.
“What a dupe. Thank you for your service,” said one follower.
“Nice find!” said another viewer.
In a second video, she responded to a follower who was anxious to watch her swatch the shades.
The fan’s wish was her command.
“Yes, and thank you so kindly for asking,” she replied.
She grabbed her first palette and tested each color on her finger before applying the shades to her forearm.
By the time she was done she was covered in sparkly gold to black tones.
Alexus repeated the test – this time on the front of her arm with brown and burgundy shades from the second palette.
Committed to the eye shadow testing task, she didn’t stop until she was covered in all ten tones.
“The shadows felt surprisingly smooth and creamy as well,” she said.
Her fans were taking note.
“For 1.25 that quality is insane,” said one follower.
Another fan requested to see her rock out in the shadow steals which she obliged to – literally.
“As you can kind of see I’m getting ready for a show so I really love you all so I’m going to demo this s**t and put it on my actual eyes,” she said in a third video.
For the demonstration, the performer who had blue hair and a red lip decided to use both palettes for a natural look.
The shadows made her eyes burn for a bit but she wanted to make sure no one missed out on her makeup finds.
“I just am looking out for the budget baddies and those who don’t want to buy the OG for whatever reason,” she said.
After taking the stage, she gave a peek of what the shadows looked like by the end of the night – and it seemed that the palettes had staying power.
“These palettes are not bad just use a good eyeshadow primer,” said one follower.
