Sulphur man arrested, charged with 46 counts of child porn
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A Sulphur man was arrested Thursday after admitting he possessed several images and videos of child pornography, authorities said.
Larry J. Burnett, 29, of Sulphur, is charged with 46 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.
In September 2023, detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office working with Homeland Security Investigations and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in reference to child sexual abuse material saved to a Gmail account.
Investigators said approximately 46 child porn videos and images were located on an account associated with Burnett. Judge Tony Fazzio signed a warrant for Burnett’s arrest in Wednesday.
On Thursday he was located at work and confirmed he was in possession of the material, according to detectives. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. His bond is set at $400,000.
