I thought I’d bought a bog standard house but then found a secret that not even the previous tenants knew about
A HOMEOWNER has shared the hidden secret that he found in his house, that not even the previous tenants had realised was there.
Daniel thought he’d bought a bog standard home, but found something surprising when he was doing a spot of DIY.
He shared his find via a video posted to his TikTok channel @__daniel.tx.
Daniel often uses the account to share DIY tips and tricks.
In the video, Daniel gave viewers a look behind one of the doors in his house, where a mysterious wooden panel was stuck to the wall.
“I’d been wondering why there’s a wooden panel behind the door here”, he said.
As curiosity got the better of him, Daniel used magnets and found screws bolting the panel to the wall.
He unscrewed them and pried the panel off the wall.
At first, he just found insulation, which he didn’t find surprising.
However, behind the insulation, he found a whole hidden room.
Daniel said that the secret room even had “power and lights” but added that the previous tenants had had no idea that it was there.
In a second video, Daniel gave viewers a look into the hidden room.
It looked fairly large but was completely empty, aside from some insulation and pipes.
In a third video, Daniel revealed that he has now crafted a little door for the secret room, so he can open it whenever he chooses.
He joked that he plans to use the room for Christmas decoration storage.
Daniel’s video has clearly left many impressed as it has racked up over 14 million views.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on Daniel’s find.
One user joked: Great, now you’ve probably released an evil spirit.
“Congrats on your new room though!”
Another user added: “You’ve clearly never seen Coraline”.
A third person said: “I thought something scary was going to pop out”.
