Cypriot police find pyrotechnics hidden in stadium pre-match
February 19 – Police in the Cypriot city of Larnaca seized a large number of fireworks and pyrotechnics before the start of the local league match between AEK Larnaca and Anorthosis on Saturday.
The local authorities announced that they are investigating a case of illegal possession and transport of smoke generators and pyrotechnics at the AEK Arena.
The fireworks were found hidden in the stadium facilities during an inspection before Saturday’s game between AEK and Anorthosis.
