The Railway Board has approved the construction of a second rail-cum-road bridge over the Brahmaputra in Guwahati, removing a major bottleneck in rail connectivity. The project includes the doubling of the Agthori-Kamakhya section and the Lumding-Furkating section, benefiting passenger and freight movement in the region.
