Alina Habba: Trump ‘prepared’ to pay nearly $400M bond to appeal fraud judgment
Attorney Alina Habba said Donald Trump is "prepared" to post a nearly $400 million bond after a fraud judgment against him in New York.
In an interview on Fox News on Monday, Habba lashed out at New York Attorney General Letitia James' claim that no one is above the law.
"I'm inviting you to show me that no one is above the law while we have Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, and all of his friends up in D.C., in the deep state, that have not been touched," Trump's attorney complained.
"The only person who did nothing wrong but will still get persecuted and prosecuted, is President Trump because they can't beat him in November," she continued. "So I want to use their words against them and invite them to show me how no one is actually above the law."

Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked Habba if Trump would sell his New York assets to pay the fine.
"Does he really have 30 days to pay this fine?" MacCallum wondered. "And if so, there are some reports that he will sell off almost all, if not all, of his New York assets. What can you tell us about that?"
"No, I mean, I would never get into anything privileged, but I can tell you what the rules are," Habba dodged. "And within 30 days, even if we choose to appeal this, which we will, we have to post the bond, which is the full amount and some, and we will be prepared to do that."
Trump was hit with $355 million in damages on Friday after a New York judge found him liable for fraud for inflating the value of Trump Organization properties to secure loans and insurance. It came less than a month after he was ordered to pay $83.3 million to writer E. Jean Carroll after he was found liable for defaming her.
