Events being held at UAlbany this week
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The University at Albany has a slate of events available to the public throughout the week. Those looking to fill up their Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday nights are welcome to stop by the campus for a lecture, a conversation, or a documentary.
University at Albany's annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration with Adjoa Asamoah
The event is on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and is free but requires registration. The lecture will be held in the Campus Center Ballroom with Adjoa Asamoah, co-creator of the CROWN Coalition, which sought to make hairstyle-based discrimination illegal in all 50 states.
Tale of a dying mall in upstate New York with Karin Lin-Greenberg
The event will be held on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Assembly Hall on the second floor of the Campus Center. The conversation will center around Karin Lin-Greenberg's debut novel "You Are Here," which is about upstate New York residents who have to deal with the impending closure of a local shopping mall.
Film screening: "Turn Every Page: The Adventures of Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb"
The film screening will be on Friday at Page Hall in downtown campus at 7 p.m. The film, written and directed by Lizzie Gottlieb, follows the 50-year relationship between writer Robert Caro and his editor Robert Gottlieb.
