Three major Coronation Street returns revealed in shock spoilers

MONTHS have gone by since Fiz Dobbs waved goodbye to No.9 and her family finally get ready to welcome her home next week.

However, Fiz won’t be returning alone to Coronation Street and Daisy Midgeley is due for a massive shock of her own.

But there’s another return that could shock Daisy Midgeley[/caption]

Actress Jennie McAlpine was last seen in the ITV soap in May, 2023, as her on-screen alter ego decided to take on a job in the Norwich Underworld factory.

At the time, serial killer Stephen Reid had decided to send her off while he was scheming to take over Carla Connor’s entire business.

This meant Fiz would have to spend months away from her family and, more particularly, her husband Tyrone (played by Alan Halsall).

But the mechanic was eventually able to join her in Norwich as his grandmother Evelyn and mother Cassie Plummer took care of their home in their absence.

Coming up next week, Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and Cassie (Claire Sweeney) clean the house in readiness for Fiz and Tyrone’s return.

At the garage, Cassie makes Abi Webster (Sally Carman) promise not to tell Tyrone she’s been using his car.

But when Kevin (Michael Le Vell) points out she’s put petrol in a diesel engine she’s mortified. 

And there’s another comeback that will leave many jaws dropped next week.

When Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) asks his former fiancée Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) if she’ll look after his son Bertie for a few hours she agrees, looking wistfully after Daniel.

Daisy confides in Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) that there’s still a spark between her and Daniel and she hopes they can get back together.

But with Rita Tanner’s birthday party in full swing in the Rovers, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) receives a message and accidentally airdrops it to everyone in the pub.

Daisy’s face falls as she reads “I had a Torrid Affair with my Acid Attack Hero.”

Viewers of the Manchester-based program will recall that a cash-strapped Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) decided to use Daisy’s affair with Ryan Connor for an article, much to Daniel’s dismay.

This led Bethany to call it quits with Daniel as he couldn’t support her article idea for Chit Chat Magazine.

In other scenes, Daniel apologises to Daisy for failing to warn her about the article but she gives him short shrift.

He then tries to make up with Bethany but she too cuts him dead.

Having spoken to her editor, a fuming Bethany tells her mother Sarah (Tina O’Brien) that because of Daisy making a complaint, she’s been sacked.

Bethany confronts Daisy, accusing her of sabotaging her career.

Daniel heads over, shocked to hear that Daisy had Bethany fired.

As the row escalates, Daisy reveals Lauren Bolton blackmailed her and Ryan after finding out about their affair and only asked Daniel to tutor her so she could increase the pressure.

Once she is back home, Daisy broods, but when Jenny reveals she’s got a visitor, she is gobsmacked to see Ryan. 

Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) left the cobbles in late December, 2023, after rekindling his budding romance with Crystal Hyde.

After discovering he’d had an affair with Daisy, Crystal gave Ryan an ultimatum as she offered him the chance of a fresh start with her in Glasgow.

Crystal and Ryan left together, just as Daisy was desperately trying to save her relationship with Daniel.

But why has he returned and what does he have planned?

Could Ryan and Daisy be reunited, as Daniel has made it clear he’s moved on with Bethany?

What will Ryan tell Bethany, his ex-girlfriend, after finding out about her article?
