Messy
Hello Friends,
This morning’s picture of south Curly tells the story – there is swell under all that junky chop, but would you bother? The buoy data shows 1.5 metres of 11-second S-SSE swell, but there was 8-13 kts of south wind on top of it when the picture was taken. As you can see below, the wind call is for it to swing more east later, so conditions will not be improving. And then there’s the weather. The Bureau says an 80% chance of showers with falls in the 2-30mm range.
While it’ll be showery through to Saturday, we could get lucky tomorrow morning for the early because the wind shouldn’t blow too hard between now and then, which in turn ought to mean smoother surface conditions. Plus the models show more energy out of the eastern quarters. Probably not exceptional, but it could be fun…
Go well!
Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure lies over central parts of the New South Wales coast with another in the state’s west. A high pressure system, currently south of the Bight, will shift to the Tasman Sea during the next day or two, causing the coastal trough to decay and a gradual shift to northeasterly winds through the middle part of the week. A deep low is forecast to pass to the south near the end of the week, with an associated cold front and trough bringing a southerly change to coastal areas during Friday and Saturday.
