The ban on export of onion till March 31, 2023, continues to control prices and ensure domestic availability, according to Consumer Affairs Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh. Modal wholesale onion prices in Lasalgoan rose 40.62% to Rs 1,800 per quintal. The ban may continue post March 31 due to lower rabi onion production, especially in Maharasthra.
