RasputinI agree, but councils were encouraged to engage in activities outside of normal council roles by the current government in order to make up for the reductions in government funding.
It's yet another consequence of austerity.
Absolutely 100% agree. Tory dogma. Council's did what they had to (as they were told) - but I don't think they should've had to in the first place.
Tax wealth, the rich and big corps properly, and there's plenty of money in the economy to fund council's properly (which would create jobs, better paid jobs, collect more in PARY, and put more money in people's pockets to spend, creating more tax and more jobs).
