Alison Hammond pays tribute to Robin Windsor saying she is ‘completely heartbroken’ by Strictly partner’s death
ALISON Hammond shared an emotional tribute to dancer Robin Windsor on This Morning today after his sudden death aged 44.
The presenter broke her silence on the ITV lunchtime show after performing with Robin on Strictly’s Christmas special back in 2015.
Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle read a statement from a devastasted Alison on air.
Josie shared Alison‘s words with viewers, and said: “I’ve just heard the very sad news about Robin’s passing.
“I’m completely heartbroken. He was one of the nicest people to work with and so much fun to be around.
“I had the pleasure of dancing with him for the Strictly Christmas special and they were such special times.
“My thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Pro dancer Robin, who appeared on BBC’s Strictly from series eight to 11 was today confirmed to have died by his Burn The Floor performance troupe.
The pro first competed on Strictly in 2010 with Patsy Kensit, reaching week nine of the competition before being eliminated.
He later competed with Anita Dobson, Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley and Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden.
For Children In Need in 2011, he partnered up with Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid for a special episode.
Susanna was told of Robin’s death while live on Good Morning Britainay earlier today – and she fought back tears as she paid tribute to him.
“Robin was larger than life and I fell in love with him and fell in love with dancing when I danced with him back then,” she said.
“He was an absolutely remarkable dancer, incredibly strong, so creative, he was just so enthusiastic about dancing. I just adored him.

“He was the most incredible personality. As soon as I danced with him there was something very special about him.”
“I can’t believe it actually. Such heart, such a talent, such a twinkler,” Richard Arnold added to the sentiment.
The news was also confirmed by Sisco Entertainment, which represented him in various areas of theatre and corporate entertainment.
A statement said: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved friend, Robin Windsor.
“Robin’s presence in Come What May was more than just a performance; it was an embodiment of passion, grace, and sheer talent.
“His extraordinary ability to express emotion through movement captivated audiences, leaving them spellbound with every step.
“Beyond his impeccable dancing, Robin’s vibrant spirit lit up the room, infusing rehearsals and performances with infectious energy and warmth. His laughter was contagious, his kindness boundless.
“His friendship was a gift cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robin, you will be deeply missed.
“Though Come What May will continue without you, your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in your light.”
Robin previously opened up on his battle with depression.
He left Strictly in 2014 claiming axed by bosses following a “horrible back operation”.
Robin revealed how he subsequently found it difficult to watch the show following his departure.
An ambassador mental health charity SANE, he also said he had battled with depression from the age of 19.
He added: “Not really understanding what was going on I found that I was sad.
“And, I know we all have our dark days, but my dark days turned into dark weeks and I wouldn’t get out of bed.
“I didn’t really understand why I was feeling like that or how to get out of that state.”
