New safety measures implemented at Greater Amsterdam School District
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Several new safety measures have been put in place at the Greater Amsterdam School District, following a meeting with parents in the school district. The meeting was held two weeks ago.
Among the new security changes include an increased police presence, enhanced bag checks, adding another metal detector, increased staffing, and optimal clear bags. Additionally, an anonymous reporting app will be made accessible to students and parents.
With the anonymous reporting app, concerned individuals can report concerning behavior without fear of reprisals. The district says tips local law enforcement will follow up on the tips provided.
