Albany Patroons motivated for 2024 season
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- We're getting closer and closer to the start of a new TBL season, which means the Albany Patroons are about to embark on another chance to compete for a TBL title.
The Patroons made it to the semifinals in the TBL playoffs last season but lost to St. Louis in game three. That loss has lingered in the back of the minds of some players who have used it as fuel to prepare for the upcoming season.
Several players from last year's team returned to tryouts this week, in addition to some new faces who are working to make an impact.
"It just wasn't our time you know it just wasn't our time and I was able to accept that," said Patroons' head coach Derrick Rowland. "My guys played hard they gave everything they got, the organization did everything they could and sometimes you just come up short that's sports. There's motivation to come out and get the job done this time."
The Patroons start the season on Friday, March 1 against the Jamestown Jackals. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
