‘Good luck… a lifetime of pain!’ warn people after a woman gets Turkey Teeth to fix her ‘small’ natural gnashers

A WOMAN has been warned to expect ”a lifetime of pain” after jetting off to Turkey to spruce up her smile.

Rebecca Barron, from Portsmouth, the UK, took to TikTok to proudly share the dental makeover – however, whilst fans seemed to love how ”natural” the result was, some insisted the young woman will grow to ”regret” the decision in the future.

Rebecca, 35, appears to have travelled to Turkey – one of the most popular destinations for a smile transformation for a fraction of the price – with her partner Dave Chudley, who also made headlines with his new gnashers.

Although the woman insisted getting crowns was not a ”need” but rather something she’d ”wanted”, she’d never like her natural teeth.

”I hated my teeth before they were so small due to grinding them,” the stunner explained in the comments under her video.

After flying to the sunny country, Rebecca visited the dental clinic, where she first had a consultation with the team and picked what she wanted.

This, she went on, is then followed by filing down – but although one fellow beauty fanatic said she was ”dreading” this step of the process, the 35-year-old claimed it ”was absolutely fine”, as ”you’re numb for the most of it”.

”Just a bit sensitive at times.”

Rebecca explained that afterwards she visited the clinic the following day ”for more moulds” and around four days in the makeover you can finally go in to try the brand new crowns.

All chuffed with the smile transformation, the stunner, who also noted that she was missing some teeth beforehand, said: ”I love them now.”

However, the reaction online was mixed, and not everyone agreed with Rebecca’s decision to get the so-called Turkey Teeth.

One concerned social media user warned the ink lover: ”Problem is the teeth underneath the new white ones will rot, then you got trouble.”

Someone else chimed in: ”Good luck… a lifetime of pain!”

”Regrets will come soon,” another was convinced.

”Good luck with the infections and removing your teeth when you need dentures, why destroy good teeth,” a fourth was baffled.

Luckily, it wasn’t all negative, as there was heaps of support – and even Rebecca hit back at the meanies.

”Just think people have nothing good to say at times. People are always gonna pipe up so let them,” she said.

A fellow beauty fan wrote: ”That’s me in 10 days flying to Antalya, I’m nervous but the only way is forward.”

”Yep, they look incredibly natural,” someone praised the results.

”They look great,” another agreed.

Posting the transformation, Rebecca also revealed what the process entailed

What to know before getting your teeth done in Turkey

Although thousands flock abroad every year in hopes for a new set of pearly whites, experts have warned of the dangers of travelling to Turkey for the popular treatment.

This is because a part of this procedure involves filing down your natural gnashers in order to accommodate the new veneers.

As the natural tooth enamel will not grow back, beauty lovers will always require some kind of veneer to be fitted.

Harley Street Smile Clinic told The Liverpool Echo: “Our clinic has been inundated over the last couple of years with young people who have been misled by bargain cosmetic dental centres in Turkey.

“Having been left with the harsh reality of a lifetime of dental work, costing far beyond the cost of having veneers done in the UK, often our clients have no idea what work they’ve actually had done, or what’s involved in rectifying the issue.”

Dr Maurice Johannes, Principle Dentist at Harley Street Smile Clinic, echoed the worries, saying: “I can’t stress enough that people need to be 100% clear about exactly what they are signing up for when they go abroad for cosmetic dental treatment.

“Although patients are under the impression they are having veneers, in reality they are having crowns placed, which means much more aggressive tooth reduction.

Katie [Price] may be happy with the finished look, but with this amount of tooth reduction it increases massively the risk of having nerve damage and root canal treatment.”

Problems with 'Turkey teeth'

  • Intense long-lasting pain
  • Overly sensitive teeth
  • Exposed nerves
  • Ill-fitting veneers can be too big or too small
  • Infected gums, which can spread to the sinuses and even to the bone if left untreated
  • Rotting teeth
  • Excessive swelling
  • Poorly bonded veneers can fall off easily
