It was shared as part of a challenge by user @livholistic, a self-confessed eco warrior who is eager to cut down on her waste and toxic chemicals in her home.

Whilst you might think this took way more time than buying it in a store, the content creator demonstrated just how easy her alternative was to make.
After buying a 200ml spray bottle she’d online, Liv then added 94 ml (quarter of a cup) of rubbing alcohol to help bind her ingredients together.
There is a another reason why she included the solvent though, as it also helps to cut through any built up grime and is a powerful antimicrobial ingredient – killing 99 per cent of germs instantly.
Next, she added 30 drops of her favourite essential oils with the influencer creating her own custom scent of sweet orange and lavender.
Finally, she filled the rest of the bottle with tap water and the DIY cleaning product was ready to use.
“This combination smells so good,” she gushed, showing her spritzing the gorgeous scent around her home and giving it a much needed refresh (pun intended).
Not only will this hack help you banish bad odors, it is also full customisable meaning you can use any essential oil combination to get your home smelling heavenly.
Before you make a batch though, you’ll need to ensure that the oils you choose are pet safe.
It’s worth noting that some essential oils can cause serious health issues if they make contact with your pet’s skin or are ingested.
According to experts, lavender, chamomile and bergamot are some of the best to use around the home – without putting your beloved pet at risk.
It won’t cost you a fortune either, as Amazon are currently selling a 10ml bottle of lavender essential oil for just £2.49.
You can also pick up a 500ml bottle of rubbing alcohol for just £2.71, which mean you can make multiple batches of your homemade air freshener for just over a fiver.
Even better, it would cost you just 17p each time you used the spray – based on the cost of using the air freshener every day for a month.
For those still struggling to keep the bad smells at bay, you can try making DIY deodorisers for the particularly pungent parts of your house.
