Man sentenced to 10 years for assaulting refugee women in Germany
A court in the city of Nuremberg, Germany, sentenced a security guard at a refugee camp to ten years in prison for the crime of sexually assaulting and harassing women asylum seekers.
He was accused of assaulting and molesting these women, including two Iranian women, at least 67 times between 2018 and 2022.
Reports suggest that this camp is specifically for single women and women who live with their children.
The perpetrator, aged 54 and a father of two, had come to Germany as a refugee from Iraq. His case has been described as one of the largest and most sensational cases of assault in refugee camps in Germany.
This security officer would force women into cohabitation and, according to the court, the relationship was one-sided and based on coercion. He would threaten these women that if they refused, he would fabricate complaints against them, leading to the loss of their children.
It is said that the women who were victims of sexual assault had complained to the authorities of this camp, but the man’s secret was only revealed when he complained to the police about women.
After investigating the accused’s complaint, the police realized that the complainant was, in fact, the perpetrator.
