In Scotland – Aberdeen Loan Star Makes Admission About Scottish Game

Aberdeen striker Pape Gueye has pointed out that Scottish football demands a lot physically from players and is expecting a different kind of football in Norway, where he is on loan.

The 24-year-old centre forward was brought in by former Aberdeen boss Barry Robson in the summer, but has failed to make a big impact at Pittodrie.

Gueye featured four times for Aberdeen in the league, with all of them coming from the bench.

Gueye has now moved to Norwegian side Kristiansund on loan for the rest of the season and feels he is heading for an improved league.

He compared the previous leagues he has played in and explained that Scotland is physically demanding.

“The Belgian league is good, it is tough and technical. In Scotland, we use a lot of energy going up and down, so it’s a totally different league”, Gueye told Kristiansund’s official site.

“In Norway, I see the league getting better and better.

“When I played here before, it was a lot about running as much as possible, but now I see a lot of teams playing more football.”

Gueye will be hoping to regain his form from his time with Kristiansund before he returns to Pittodrie in the summer.
