Leeds United Starlet Admits ‘Whole Different Game’ Expected On Loan Stint
Leeds United starlet Charlie Allen has admitted that his move to York City from the Whites Under-21s is a massive jump for him and pointed out that experience is a factor in senior level football.
Allen has been a key part of Leeds’ youth side and last season he helped the Whites Under 21s earn promotion to the Premier League 2 Division 1.
Leeds have now agreed to a short-term loan deal with National League side York City to give him a taste of regular senior level football.
Allen, who has yet to make a senior appearance for Leeds, admitted that the jump to senior level from the Premier League 2 is huge.
The 20-year-old pointed out that the level of experience players playing at senior level have is a massive factor.
When asked whether he considers joining the National League outfit a massive jump from Premier League 2 football, Allen told York City’s official media: “Yes, it is massive, obviously.
“There are big, strong lads in Premier League 2, but I think men’s football is just a whole different game because they are more experienced than any Premier League 2 player.
“They know the game well, so I think that brings a massive factor.”
Allen featured 44 times in the Premier League 2 before joining York City and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to impress for the National League outfit before he returns to Elland Road.
