NYSP: Melrose man arrested, assaulted victim with knife
MELROSE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Melrose man was arrested on Tuesday, February 13, after brandishing and cutting a victim with a knife, according to New York State Police (NYSP). Nelson Simon, 57, faces multiple charges.
On February 13, around 8:44 p.m., law enforcement responded to a Melrose home for reports of a disturbance. State Police say an investigation found Simon brandished a knife during an altercation and cut his victim, which caused minor injury.
Charges:
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Second-degree menacing
Simon was arrested and processed by Brunswick State Police. He was arraigned at the Hoosick Town Court and is held at the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond, or a $20,000 secured bond.
