SWAT team comes up empty in standoff situation in Lafayette
UPDATE, 9:50 a.m.: The scene has been cleared at 618 St. Camille St. LPD SWAT was able to enter the residence, but the suspect was not found. Police said it is believed that the suspect left the scene prior to police arriving.

ORIGINAL STORY: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Police and SWAT teams are on the scene of a standoff at a home in Lafayette, authorities said.
Lafayette Police spokesman Kenderis Handy said one person was removed from a home at 618 St. Camille St. early this morning by medical personnel, and another person barracaded themselves in the house, resulting in a standoff.
Lafayette Police said they responded to a stabbing incident at 6:25 a.m. that left one victim injured. Upon officers arriving on scene, the victim was located and provided medical aid until Acadian Ambulance arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect then barracaded inside the home.
The scene is currently active as LPD SWAT and negotiators are actively working to provide a safe extraction of the suspect, authorities said.
