The first TIDEL Park was established in Chennai under the leadership of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. It was inaugurated on July 4, 2000, by Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee. TIDEL subsequently collaborated with TIDCO to establish TIDEL Park Coimbatore, while CM Stalin opened a similar complex recently in Villupuram
