Design firm Lemay has announced its acquisition of Fusion Énergie, a Quebec-based company known for energy intelligence solutions in energy management and optimization.
Lemay aims to leverage this partnership to expedite the transition of the built environment to carbon neutrality with the support of the National Bank, the CDPQ, and the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ.
Since over 30 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions are attributed to the building sector, the reduction of energy consumption in buildings is important for achieving carbon neutrality and mitigating climate change impacts.
The collaboration between Lemay and Fusion represents an advancement as the combined companies cover the lifecycle of buildings, from design to operation. This approach also delivers immediate and long-term benefits, and contributes to substantial reductions in both energy costs and carbon footprints for both new and existing building stock.
“By integrating Fusion’s energy intelligence, we can proactively monitor energy consumption, make diagnoses, and offer real-time responses throughout a building’s operation, accelerating our efforts to decarbonize built environments,” said Louis T. Lemay, president of Lemay.
This collaboration also aims to promote occupant well-being and create added value for businesses, building owners, and communities.
“As part of the Lemay team, we can extend the reach of our energy intelligence solutions to new markets. We are delighted to join a firm that shares our human and environmental values,” said Daniel Sarrazin, president of Fusion Énergie.
