User Experience Research Assistantships (Undergraduate and Graduate, Remote) 2024
Nielsen Norman Group is looking for talented research assistants who are students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a university or college. This is a paid part-time position.

Responsibilities:
These will vary depending on the individual but will include some (not all) of the following:
- Carrying out a variety of UX-research or data-analysis activities under the supervision of an NN/g staff member
- Writing articles for nngroup.com (example article)
- R programming and quantitative data analysis
- 3-tier web-app development and Google Apps scripts
- Social-media content scheduling and strategy
- Creating and recording videos for nngroup.com (example video)
Location: Remote
NN/g is a fully remote company. We hire interns based anywhere in the world. We expect most of your duties to be performed remotely.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at a university or college
- Expected graduation date: Dec 2024 or later
- Majors: human-computer interaction, human factors, user experience, cognitive science, psychology, computer science, statistics, or another UX-related program
- Ability to work year round, with a minimum of 10 hours per week
- Quick, self-motivated learner
- High productivity and responsiveness
- Excellent English-language skills (both written and oral)
Specialized skills:
At least some of the following skills will be appreciated but not required:
- Prior experience with UX research
- Statistical-analysis skills and familiarity with R
- Web-development skills; familiarity with Google Apps Scripts and 3-tier web-app development
- Fluency in other languages and familiarity with other cultures
