How banking prudential policy can respond to climate change risks

Climate change generates new risks for banks. In multiple jurisdictions, legislators, prudential regulators, and supervisors are considering specific initiatives to respond to the challenge, and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has initiated work on climate-related financial risks at the global level.
