Shots fired near Aloha Huber Park Elementary, school on secure status
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Shots fired near Aloha Huber Park Elementary prompted the school to be placed on a “secure status” Wednesday afternoon as authorities investigate the disturbance, officials say.
Deputies are on the scene of 5000 SW 173rd Avenue after they say an “altercation” led someone to fire a gun. Officials say the shooting did not lead to any injuries.
“As a precautionary measure, Aloha Huber Park Elementary has been placed in a secure status as we prioritize the community's safety,” the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on social media. “Our deputies are at the school to provide additional security and support as the investigation unfolds.”
The sheriff’s office did not share any further details. The investigation is ongoing.
