National Grid employee locates missing woman in Adams

ADAMS, M.A. (NEWS10) – A missing woman in Adams has been found safe and well, according to police. She had been missing for five days before she was located by a National Grid employee who was working in the area where she was last seen.

Christina Barnes had last been seen on February 15 at 3:00 P.M. Greg Brown found the 28 year old early Tuesday morning, on Columbia Street.

“I was glad that the story ended the way it did. Too many times it doesn’t.,” said Brown.

He heard about the missing woman on his local radio station. 

“I'm sure her family was very concerned,” said Brown. “I’ve been in their shoes. I’ve had to worry about loved ones in very similar conditions and it’s not a good feeling.”

Brown was on a call at 5:00 A.M. Tuesday morning in the area where Barnes went missing. He remembered that she was wearing a black hoodie, white and black tie-dye leggings and work boots. The low that day was 12 degrees.

“That was part of the reason that I was actually keeping an eye open because I can't imagine being bundled up in a sweatshirt,” said Brown. 

He said he did not see her on his first call but hours later when he returned, he saw her around 8:00 A.M. and told police she was on Columbia, near Cook Street.

“I don't know her backstory, I don't need to. I'm just glad she’s safe and her family can breathe a sigh of relief,” said Brown.

Relief because Brown took action. And he wants others to do the same.

“If you’re aware that there’s something in the area going on and you think there might be a chance that you saw somebody, or you saw something, then definitely reach out to the police and let them take a look,” said Brown.
