Niskayuna man jailed on assault charge

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- William Ferrara, 35, of Niskayuna, was sentenced to four and a half years of incarceration for assault in the second degree. Ferrara was arrested on January 28, 2023, after he allegedly assaulted his ex-wife's boyfriend at a residence on Victory Circle.

Ferrara reportedly smashed a wine bottle over the victim’s head. The victim was taken to Malta Emergent Care where he was treated and released.

Orders of protection were also issued for both the victim and Ferrara’s ex. Ferrara was also ordered to serve three years of post-release supervision.
