Rain & wind returns with cooler temps for Columbus area

FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Wednesday evening,

It has been a beautiful day today with the winds picking up pushing highs into the lower 60s, well above normal for this time of year.  Tonight, clouds will increase this evening ahead of midnight with rain forming to our west and southwest later tonight. This will make for a wet start to the day on Thursday with temps in the low to mid 40s.

Thursday expect rain showers in the morning, with winds picking up and the possibility of some isolated thunderstorms by midday into the early afternoon.   By late day the focus for any storms should push to the south to southeast part of our area.  Highs on Thursday will be in the mid 50s, with some lower 50s north, and upper 50s south.

Rain showers will taper off Thursday overnight as a weak front clears the area, and brings in more clouds and slightly cooler temps (still above normal) for Friday.  Friday overnight into early Saturday another shot of colder air will drop down, and looks to possibly scare up some scattered light flurries for early Saturday.

Saturday should see clearing skies with colder air and temps only in the middle 30s for highs.  This will set us up for a cooler start near normal on Sunday in the mid 20s, but a wind shift and increase will push temps back into the middle 50s with sunshine.  Monday looks to be another bright and warm day with highs in the lower 60s.

Our next weather system will approach on Monday night with showers increasing and mild temps in the upper 40s.  Rain and windy conditions expected on Tuesday with some of the warmest temps of the season in the middle 60s.  With the low nearby, we will have to watch for a chance of storms Tuesday and Wednesday.  Rain will remain in the forecast on Wednesday ahead of the cold front with temps still around 60.  It will remain breezy on Wednesday still.
