My cleaning ‘friend’ works magic every time – it cleared away a million scratches my toddler left on his favorite plate
A CLEANING expert has shared the trick she uses to revive scratched-up cookware.
She was able to clear away scuff marks on her toddler’s favorite home goods.
The mom (@justyouraveragecl) shared the cleaning trick in a TikTok video.
“Of course, my toddler chose a fourteen-year-old Ikea plate with a million scratches to be his favorite,” she said.
Holding up the banged-up green plate, she attempted to smooth out the scratches for her child to eat off of.
“Since we apparently have to keep this plate then I’m going to at least get these scratches out,” she said.
Dumping a mound of $3 Bar Keepers Friend Multipurpose Cleanser & Polish on the plate, she got to work.
“If you’ve seen any of my videos, you know I’m a huge fan of Bar Keepers Friend, it works magic every single time,” she said.
“They have a cleaner specifically for cookware and that’s what I’m using here.”
For those looking to preserve or transform their expensive cookware, she highly recommended trying the polish out.
“If you’re someone who actually has nice cookware or plates, you’d love this,” she said.
“Before you toss it, try buffing it out with some Bar Keepers Friend because you may be surprised with a huge difference.”
She joked that although she stole the plate from her sister 14 years ago, after the cleaning, her sister would probably try to take it back.
People were shocked by the difference the powder made and some thanked her for putting them on to the simple solution.
“I have a whole set of these dishes we still actively use! Mine aren’t very scuffed but how nice would it be to spruce them up?! I’ll try it!” said one commenter.
