Fortnite downtime: When will servers be updated?

FORTNITE is one of the world’s most popular video games, but as a live-service game, it needs to go offline from time to time.

Today is one of those days as servers are down, with no clear idea as to when they will return.

If you want to get into Fortnite, there may still be quite a while you have to wait.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite February 22 server downtime.

Why is Fortnite down?

Every few months Fortnite schedules downtime in order to prepare for the new season’s content.

This is the v28.30 update, and it will mark the start of Season 2 for the Rock Band mode of Fortnite, Fortnite Festival.

Lady Gaga is headlining the second season, bringing new outfits, emotes, songs, and stages with her.

There will also be updates to the other game modes, so Fortnite Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, and Rocket Racing will also be offline.

How long will Fortnite be down?

Servers were taken offline on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 1am PT / 4am ET / 9am GMT.

There is no clear indication as to when they will return, but server maintenance usually takes around three hours to complete.

We expect servers to be back up the same day around 4am PT / 7am ET / 12pm GMT, however, the actual time may be shorter or longer than this.

What is in the Fortnite item shop today?

The following Lady Gaga-themed items are being added to the store today:

• Chromatica Armor outfit
• Chromatica bass and mic
• Rain Check emote
• Lady Gaga – Stupid Love

If you purchase the Premium Festival Pass, you will also be able to pick up the Enigmatica outfit along with a number of songs for Fortnite Festival.
