Congress has accused the Indian government of "murdered" democracy after microblogging platform X disagreed with the government's order to block accounts and posts related to farmers' protests. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has ordered social media platforms to temporarily block 177 accounts linked to the protests. X called for freedom of expression to affected posts and a writ appeal challenging the government's blocking orders.
