The World Food Programme says it is "extremely concerned" about the severe hunger facing people in the Gaza Strip, stressing that a pause in aid deliveries to the north of the territory is "temporary". The UN organisation said it was forced to halt the deliveries because of "complete chaos and violence" on the ground, with images from Gaza showing hundreds of people clambering onto trucks and snatch food aid or desperately searching for clean water.
