I dumped my ex so I can wake up next to my 23-year-old daughter in bed – people call us ‘sick’ but we’re soul mates
A MUM has left people horrified after dumping her boyfriend so she could wake up in bed next to her “soul mate” daughter every morning instead.
The woman named Amy, 45, explained that she decided to call time on her relationship with her partner Kai because she believed he was coming between her and her 23-year-old daughter, Carina.
In a clip from TLC‘s reality show s’Mothered, Amy can be seen having a heated arguing with her ex.
“Last night with my ex boyfriend Kai was rough – it started out amazing and then this morning it’s like the connection we always had was just gone,” she says, speaking to the camera.
“I woke up and I realised it wasn’t Carina in bed with me…I realised it was him.
“It left me feeling angry and I’m just not going to allow him to take any more time from my relationship with Carina.”

But Kai was left noticeably baffled by their argument and was none the wiser as to why things had turned sour so quickly.
“I don’t completely understand what happened this morning between me and Amy – this is unfortunately a common thread between us,” he explains.
“Now it’s becoming more apparent I’m a third wheel and it’s not the best feeling in the world.
“I think Amy’s just afraid of letting somebody in that’s not Carina.”
Speaking to the camera, Amy’s daughter Carina says: “If two people are truly soulmates, it shouldn’t be this hard.
“I’ve tried to warn my mum every time she calls Kai to come back out here. I say, ‘you know what happened last time…it’s going to happen again!’
“I do feel like my mum is my soulmate.
“I don’t believe soulmates are just restricted to people who you fall in love with in a romantic way.”
After packing his bags, Kai can then be seen walking out the house with luggage in tow.
“I do think Amy’s sabotaged it,” he tells the camera crew
“Amy’s been afraid of letting someone in for years that’s not Carina. I’m exhausted from fighting.
“I don’t want to fight with her any more and if I’ve got to walk away to stop that, then that’s what I’ve go to do.”
While Amy questions why she bothered giving him the “best years of her life”, Carina reassures her that time is on her side.
“You’re not old – you’re gorgeous dude,” she says.
After hugging it out, Amy then turns to her daughter and tells her: “I love having you around – thank God you’re here! I’ve always loved you.”
Carina goes on to say that she truly believes her mum is happier without her ex in her life, adding: “Kai doesn’t seem to handle that very well when he’s not the number one person in my mum’s life.
I do feel like my mum is my soulmate…I don’t believe soulmates are just restricted to people who you fall in love with in a romantic way.”

“I think I’ll always be the most important person to her.”
However, the clip has caused quite the stir online, with viewers admitting Amy’s revelation of wanting to wake up in bed next to her daughter “made their skin crawl.”
“How unhealthy of a relationship. It’s literally as if they are in love with each other. This makes my skin crawl,” wrote one viewer.
A second penned: “Because he sleeps on the bed with her which is his lover and upset that it wasn’t her daughter sleeping together with her? Weird.
“Yeah, it’s time for him to leave since they can’t mutually be happy TOGETHER.”
A third commented: “This is just crazy, The daughter needs to have her own place and the mother needs to focus on what she needs to be happy. This is just my thought.”
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “This is so sick on so many different levels.”
Another agreed: “WOAH there. That’s so totally weird!”
And one more chimed in: “Weird! Not a healthy mother daughter relationship. Smart man walking away. Neither of them WILL EVER HAVE A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH A PARTNER.”
