KEEPING up with the latest fashion and beauty trends can be a chore.
One minute we’re talking about curtain bangs – the next it’s all about a bob.
Thankfully a nail expert has broken down the top four manicure trends for this year so you don’t have to keep searching online.
Taking to TikTok the beauty whizz who owns 14 salons under the name, The W Nail Bar, shared the biggest nail trends predicted for 2024.
The blonde beauty said: “I own 14 nail salons, and these are the biggest nail trends for 2024.”
COQUETTE NAILS
Coquette nails started to trend at the end of last year and is set to become even more popular this year.
The word ‘coquette’ means flirty and feminine, which makes total sense when you see the design.
You can pick from more minimal designs to more flamboyant – but one key detail they all have is a bow either painted onto the nail or glued on.
For a more chic way of wearing the trend, a shimmery French manicure is ideal.
The nail pro said: “It was such a slam dunk for the end 0f 2023, and they are here to stay.”
CHROME
There was a surge of women asking for Chrome nails after Maddy, from the hit TV show Euphoria sported them on set late last year.
And people are still obsessed with the hyper-shine look thanks to how many ways you can style it.
Whether you go for a French manicure with a twist (think Hailey Bieber’s doughnut nails) or full-on with a neon pink look as shown in the nail tech’s video – there’s something for everyone.
“It’s going to be super popular for all of 2024,” she added.
“It’s time to switch it up and try maybe a new vibrant colour.”
MERLOT
If you’re big on getting your nails done then it won’t be a surprise that Merlot nails are going to come around again next autumn.
Deep red nails always come back when the colder months roll around – and it won’t be any different this year.
She explains: “They just feel warm, vibrant.
“It’s like you’re holding a glass of wine 24 hours a day.”
METALLICS
Lastly, the nail expert spoke about metallic nails which are the newest trend to hit the salons.
“Metallics are all the range right now,” she explained.
“You can get them on your full nail for full coverage but I really like the idea of doing something lie this that’s really abstract.”
She showed an image of a nail set with a nude base colour and pink metallic abstract lines going over the base for a more interesting and unique look.
The clip posted to their TikTok account @thewnailbar has since gone viral with over 1million views and 27k likes.
Beauty fans seemed thrilled with her predictions and couldn’t wait to try the new trends.
One person wrote: “Love that chrome is here to stay!!”
Another commented: “The coquette & merlot are so cute! Me saying I’m no longer getting my nails done but seeing all of these designs makes me so tempted.”
“Chrome slay,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “The Merlot is so elegant.”
“Chrome girl till I die,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “The first ones with the bows are so pretty!”
