And not only this, but according to Amber, we’re all using far too much product when cleaning too.

So if you want to ensure that your home looks clean, without too much faff – then don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place.

Posting on social media, Amber shared her top tips for those wanting a sparkly clean home.

The cleaning expert shared her clip and said: “Here are three cleaning mistakes that you might be making.”

Sponge off

According to Amber, you mustn’t use the sponge in your kitchen sink to wipe down any other areas in your kitchen.

She explained: “Number one – using the sponge in your kitchen sink to wipe down your countertops.

“Those harbour so much bacteria, so instead of using that, grab yourself a microfiber towel.”

It’s too much

As well as this, according to Amber, many of us are using too much product when cleaning our homes.

She added: “Number two – using too much product.

“If you use too much, it’s just gonna create a residue and film that’s left behind and create more of a mess for you to clean up.”

Have patience

Finally, when cleaning, Amber advised that you need to read the label of your products before you wipe.

The cleaning pro concluded: “And number three – wiping up the product too soon.

I didn’t know I was supposed to let the product sit for a little while to disinfect

TikTok users

“If you’re disinfecting your countertops, be sure to read the label on the bottle.

“Usually the product has to sit for five to 10 minutes before it actually disinfects.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @bubblesandbuckets, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 23,000 views.

Social media users were thankful for Amber’s tips but were particularly grateful for her advice on letting products sit for a while before wiping surfaces, which many took to the comments to express.

One person said: “I didn’t know I was supposed to let the product sit for a little while to disinfect. Thanks.”

To this, Amber advised: “Yes, most need to sit for 10 minutes.

“I’m pretty sure most of us don’t do that.”

Whilst another added: “Leaving cleaners to sit for a bit is such a great tip.”
