Woman reveals the game changing way she gets three loads of washing dry for just £4 & does her shopping at the same time
A WOMAN has revealed the game changing way she gets huge loads of washing dry for just £4.
Abbie explained that she had a tonne of wet laundry to dry, but the dryer she has at home is “rubbish”.
And got it dry in 30 minutes, for just £4[/caption]So she decided to try out her local laundrette.
“This is your sign to find your local laundrette. It’s a game changer!” Abbie wrote over the top of her TikTok video.
“I got three loads of washing done at home and took them to the laundrette to dry.
“It only cost £4!“
Abbie added that the drying was done in 30 minutes, and “whilst it was drying I managed to do my food shop”.
“Winning!!” she added.
Laundrettes in the UK charge an average of £1 to use their industrial-sized tumble dryers for 10 minutes.
But given that Abbie paid £4, it seems that the one she visited is slightly more expensive.
“Does anyone else use a laundrette?” Abbie captioned her video.
“I thought they was only off the movies!”
And people were quick to comment on the TikTok, with one writing: “Good shout.
“Usually takes 3-12 business days for mine to dry & then be put away!”
“Exactly my point!!!” Abbie replied.
“Takes 1 day instead of 5!”
“I’ve also recently started driving down the road to my local laundrette to use their massive driers while i run errands!!” another wrote.
“So quick to get everything dry!”
“I do this every Friday on my day off,” a third commented.
“Empty both laundry baskets, towels bedding etc wash all at home & take to the launderette to dry it all in 30!”
“Adore my local laundrette!” someone else said.
“Best £5 I can spend to get everything dry without filling my house with clothes horses!”
“Most people I know think I’m mad but they are definitely missing a trick,” another added.
“Washed and dried in one day, no airers or musty smell!”
“I keep thinking of doing this but is it too risky to leave it,” someone else asked.
“No I don’t think so, everyone is so lovely and helpful in there!” Abbie replied.
“On a Wednesday you pay my local an extra £10 she washes, dries and folds it all away too, it’s brilliant,” another remarked.
As someone else said: “I’m in mine 3 times a week – the chat can be awesome!”
“Invest in a decent tumble dryer!!” another wrote.
But not everyone was convinced by Abbie’s approach.
“Invest in a decent tumble dryer,” one wrote.
“Mine cost 48p to do a 10kg load on a cotton cycle which is 2 1/2 hours!!!”
“Noooo I did this and they shrunk my fellas fave tracksuit,” another said.
“Adamant they’d done it on a cool dry too! Totally put me off ever doing it again.”
“My laundrette cost £6 for 15 minutes,” a third commented.
“Ends up costing a fortune!”
