I’m 52 and love makeup – I have hooded eyes so a smokey look used to make them small, but my tips give an instant lift
A BEAUTY enthusiast in her fifties has revealed a hack she uses to give her hooded eyes an instant lift.
She confessed that she used to think smokey eye makeup could only make her aging eyes look smaller.
Annamaria Kalebic (@annamariakalebic) has almost 70,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares tips for midlife women.
The 52-year-old applied Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair and the brand’s Revitalizing Supreme+ Bright Power Soft Creme.
She then used Erborian’s CC Red Correct to reduce any redness before starting to share her smokey eye makeup routine.
“I love a rich cream as a base for my makeup,” she said.
“Makeup just sits better when you’re skin is really moisturized.”
Annamaria used her hands to apply Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin foundation all over her face.
She then applied Beauty Pie’s Superluminous Genius under her eyes, which cost $30 on the brand’s website.
“The Super Genius from Beauty Pie cancels out any purple hue around your eye area,” she said.
“You only need a tiny bit. It’s really good at brightening your eye area.
“Next I’m going in with some concealer and this is from MaxFactor,” she said holding it up.
“I go over the eye-brightening product and any blemishes I may have.
“When I’m blending my concealer I take it right down my nose and then create this big shape that should tie in seamlessly with the foundation.
“Any excess on the brush I go over my eyelids for a little bit of an eyeshadow powder.
“Then a little bit of pressed powder to set my eyelids and give a good base for eyeshadow.”
MaxFaxtor’s Facefinity All Day Flawless concealer is available from Amazon for $19.50.
The beauty guru used NYX tinted gel, which costs $10 at Walmart, to set her eyebrows.
She then applied a light-colored eye shadow from her Urban Decay Naked palette over her eyelid.
“Next I’m going to go in with a slightly darker color just above the crease area,” she said.
“It feels like you’re going too high but it’s so much more effective than going right in the crease.
“Use your concealer brush to tidy up any fall-out and keep the edge nice and sharp, gives it a bit of a lift.
“Then I’m using the paler color again just to blend everything in and make it seamless.”
Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Basics eyeshadow palette has a 4.7-star rating on the brand’s website, where it costs $35.
Annamaria then used Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Satin Kajal liner in the color cinnamon to line her top and bottom lids.
Bergdorf Goodman sells the eyeliner in several different colors for $32.
The beauty enthusiast waited for the makeup to set for a while before using a small brush to blend out everything.
She curled her eyelashes before applying two coats of Maybelline’s Sky High mascara in black, which cost $13.
“Always start with the outer corners,” she said while demonstrating.
“That’s where I want the concentration of the mascara to be then work my way around to the middle. I love it.”
She then applied her bronzer in the color Goldilelux from Beauty Pie in an upward motion to enhance the lift illusion of her face.
She used pressed powder under her eyes and on her forehead to get a “blurring effect”, before using a Huda Beauty blush in a peach shade.
“Iconic London lip liner,” she said. “Don’t go to the corners just keep it the fuller part of your lips.”
Annamaria applied Iconic London’s lipstick to finish her lips and then used her fingers to apply a Victoria Beckham highlighter.
She was all smiles as she took the clips out of her hair to show the finished look.
“I used to think that with my hooded eyes, smokey eye makeup would be too heavy and make my eyes look smaller,” she said.
“Adding some definition to the area just above the crease really helps lift the eye area.”
Hundreds of people liked the video and many viewers took to the comment section gushing over her appearance.
