English theme park that went into administration to reopen next month – with three new rides
A THEME park in the UK that was forced to call in administrators last summer is to reopen next month.
And not only is it reopening, but there will be three new rides too.
A much-loved UK theme park is reopening with new rides next month[/caption] The park called in administrators last year[/caption]Camel Creek in Cornwall, which opened in 1989, went into administration back in July 2023.
Despite this, the park remained open until the end of the season.
And the theme park has confirmed that they will be reopening from March 23.
Along with the reopening date, the park has confirmed three new attractions opening as well.
A new adventure golf course called Shipwreck Shores Adventure golf will have nine holes with pirate-themed obstacles along the way.
There will also be Merlin’s Magical Playground, a huge 7,000sqft outdoor structure with slides and towers based on the magician.
And for when the weather is bad, there will be the Hidden Garden Indoor Play and Cafe.
Graham Hayes, General Manager of Camel Creek, said: “These new attractions are part of an entire park upgrade.
“We can’t wait to welcome back members, Cornwall families and holidaymakers when we open at Easter.“
The park is also offering 20 per cent off tickets for anyone booking online.
Tickets start from £19.20 with the discount and guests under 92cm go free.
They have also revealed new plans to open a holiday park in time for the summer season.
This would include glamping pods and safari tents as well as pitches and units with en-suites.
However, it is yet to be given the go-ahead.
Back in 2016, the park revealed plans to become a “six star resort” with luxury treehouses, waterfront villas and a pub.
Sadly this never came about, with plans later being scrapped.
We’ve rounded up some other new holiday resorts opening in the UK this year.
Butlin’s
A new £12million holiday park is to open at Butlin’s in Skegness.
Called Maple Walk Village, there will be 128 lodges, and will open from May.
Legoland
Also opening a new holiday park is Legoland’s Woodland Village.
Set to open in May as well, there will be 130 lodges, 20 camping barrels and an on-site restaurant and bar.
