The Goat’s Surf Forecast
The Goat’s Surf Forecast
Surf forecast issued Thursday 22 February 2024: Seven day outlook for Sydney
Crash..murmurmur, crash..murmurmur.. in the still night air~
TG mumbled ‘The Sea is strirring’ as he went off to dreamland last night.. So I sent him out when he got up later in the day, to have a look.
Not as big as I thought, he said on return. It was low tide, and the water didn’t look too clean, and they were Dumpers on the shore (now there’s a word I’ll bet you haven’t heard in a while).
Reminded me of a restless night on Maui many years ago, with the waves booming outside the motel all night. I thought it would be huge in the morning. Turned out they were little wavelets banging against a rock wall in a protected harbour next to where we pulled up in the night. The night air can magnify sounds of the ocean…
The latest readings he gave me this evening were 1.513 metre swell, at 8.9 seconds, from 114 degrees of the compass.
In Common Sense that would be: in the 1-2 metre range short period, from Eastish.
The Surf Outlook is
Friday: say 1- 1+ metres Eastish
Saturday: starting to come up from the south with wind, say 1-2, 2 ish metres at dead South spots
Sunday: easing back a bit, say around 1-1+ metres South East
Monday: dittoish, East
Tuesday: down a bit say around 1ish metres South East
Wednesday: up a bit, 1-1+ metres Eastish
Thursday: similar North East.
Get wet if you can and Have Fun!
